As a survivor of domestic violence, Gene has a heart for people that suffer violence-based trauma, His story about how God used martial arts to empower him to overcome his past and heal his mind, heart and soul is the very foundation that created the mission behind our non-profit. “Empower others to have the Courage to stand for themselves, the Compassion to Care for others, even those that mean them harm, and the Confidence to believe in themselves no matter what the conflict.” With over 39 years of experience in several martial arts, Gene has gained the knowledge to hold 4 separate black belt ranks, Traditional Jujitsu (5th), Judo (5th), Taiho-jutsu (arresting art) (1st), Jujitsu 360 (5th), and is a Certified Senior Instructor with the USJJF. It is this combination that qualifies Gene to navigate our leadership at Parker Self Defense as It's Head Instructor. As Executive Director Gene also acts as an essential leader in managing the overall operations internally and externally. Gene's role of a nonprofit Executive Director requires him to be a versatile individual to orchestrate many moving parts. with leadership role in both, it allows Gene to role model his passion and vision for our Non-Profit.
Jenny graduated from University of Colorado with a Bachelors of Science with a double emphasis in management and marketing. She continued on to obtain a Masters degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in leadership. Jenny has been employed by top 100 companies including Sam’s Club, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Mars, Inc, and Cargill Food Distribution. Each of these companies are privately held organizations and Jenny brings knowledge she has gained from these large companies into our business. Jenny also held the role of General Manager for an organization that provided care, housing, transportation, and activities for individuals with special needs, disabilities, and elderly. Jenny currently works for Fred Astaire Dance Studios as their Operations Director as well as owns and operates Rebel Cookie Dough and Confections (a mobile dessert trailer) with her husband Tom. Jenny possesses a proven track record of exceeding company objectives. She is a quick learner, results oriented, high energy, diverse, and has a strong work ethic possessing both strategic and operational skills. Jenny is highly skilled in delivering results, critical/analytical thinking, top to top sales calls, and coaching in leading sales professionals. Jenny’s experience makes her an asset to Parker Self Defense, especially as we continue to grow. Jenny’s knowledge in automation of documents, report creation, graphic design/marketing expertise, and creative ideas will help grow Parker Self Defense.
Fundraising Member this person will understand our nonprofit at all levels and will be able to talk shop in both individual and social settings, and will be able spend huge amounts of time around people The Goal of this position is to develop and monitor fundraising drives, develop and maintain social contact outlets
Counselor Member responsibilities to include enlisting likeminded resources in the aid in our client recruitment and managing the outsourcing of resources to aid the effectiveness of our client’s success, assess potential opportunities and the effectiveness of our programs concerned with the physical and mental welfare of our clients and needs variety of skills in specialized areas like abuse, addiction, and life counseling for adults and youth. ie 1. Mike has lived in Parker since 2006 and has been an active member and supporter of the Parker community. He has been actively involved as a volunteer and/or business representative in the Parker Area Chamber, Trick or Treat on Mainstreet, Parker Farmer’s Market, and Town of Parker Recreation Department Youth Sports Coaching Program, to name a few. Mike served the Parker Area Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador for 12 years and received the honor and distinction of Ambassador of the Year in 2013. He organized and conducted the ribbon cuttings, grand openings and milestone events to introduce businesses to the Parker community. He has had in-depth involvement in various other committees and events including the Mentorship Program, VIP Program, Luncheons, and large events such as Parker Days. He joined the Council of Arts, Science and Culture as a Board Member in 2019 as well. Mike is self-employed as a Wellness Entrepreneur and Coach with Herbalife Nutrition. He provides 1-1 as well as group support. He and his team of coaches conduct nutrition and wellness trainings as well as numerous challenges (fitness, body transformation, weight loss and full mind-body). He has a love for Soccer and all things health, nutrition and fitness related.
